Before the BID, Weston Town Centre wasn’t marketed at all in comparison to rival retail outlets and local towns and cities - such as Cribbs Causeway and Bristol. Weston BID is helping to promote the town centre as a unique destination for shopping and leisure time to both tourists and local residents from Milton, Worle, Locking and surrounding areas.

In BID 1, one of Weston BIDs marketing projects was contributing towards Weston-super-Mare’s tourism website www.loveweston.com. Over the past five years Weston BID has increased the number of events and activities to promote the town by 100%. This has raised the profile and credibility of Weston as an attractive destination for both residents and visitors.
Weston BID Marketing and Promotions
What came out clearly in the consultation was that BID marketing activity is important to BID businesses in Weston. However we need to prioritise the BID funds to achieve best value. We have listened to you and decided to allocate the bulk of these funds to deliver the ‘Safest and Cleanest Town in the South West’. We know however that we need to continue to shout about Weston and all that is good about the town and its businesses. We have made an annual allocation to support the marketing and promotion of Weston’s expansion as a major inward investment hub, which includes: university status, additional residential development, increased retail and leisure provision (Dolphin Square, Weston Gateway and Orchard Meadows), and development of the creative industries.
Weston Town Centre Events
We use event led marketing within BID areas to increase not only footfall, but also awareness of different areas of the town that people may not usually visit.. For a full list of events please see our Gallery.
Weston BID also work closely with event organisers and authorities in the town to ensure annual events remain beneficial to the town centre and BID businesses.
